2020 Internship Program - Oregon

Northwest Farm Credit Services is currently recruiting college students interested in exploring a career in the financial services industry. Our Internship Program is designed to provide a realistic job preview and insight to the career opportunities and potential that exists within Northwest FCS. Interns are assigned to a designated trainer and complete a formal training action plan, exposing them to a variety of positions and areas of our business.
As a member-owned financial cooperative, Northwest FCS helps business owners in agriculture, forestry and fisheries secure the financing they need to operate and grow, and the crop insurance they need to protect their livelihoods. Our customers are primarily located in Montana, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. Northwest FCS is a recipient of the 2019 Gallup Great Workplace Award and was named a Best Place to Work in the Inland Northwest three years running.
Minimum Qualifications for an Internship with Northwest FCS include:
- Status: Students must be of Junior or Senior status.
- Education: Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Ag Economics, Ag Business or related field.
- Preferred coursework: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Farm and Ranch Management, Business Management, Marketing and related courses.
- Skills: Strong communication, marketing, analytical and computer skills, and leadership ability demonstrated through involvement in extracurricular activities and outside work experience. An agricultural background is desirable.
Internship positions are located in various branches throughout Oregon. Our anticipated internship locations for Oregon include Salem, Junction City, Ontario and Redmond.

Currently, summer internships are available in multiple locations around the Pacific Northwest.
On campus interviews will be held following the career fairs in October. Interested candidates should stop by the career fair at a campus below to introduce themselves and learn more about opportunities at Northwest FCS. Representatives will also be presenting information through classroom visits and other on campus activities at the following locations:

Northwest FCS internships are paid, and interns receive an additional housing stipend if their internship requires securing temporary housing. We offer a fun and family-oriented atmosphere, many learning opportunities, and have a jeans/appropriate casual company dress code.
