Information about position:
This position will provide clerical support to COVID-19 testing and emergency response efforts. Successful candidates will perform a wide variety of office assistance and clerical work including: filing, proofreading, data entry, correspondence, customer service and other duties as assigned.
Information about division:
The Lane County Public Health (LCPH) Communicable Disease serves to prevent and control the spread of communicable diseases through investigation, providing immunizations, education and treatment.
Schedule: Shifts fall within normal business hours - Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hours worked per week will vary.
*This position is budgeted for a maximum of 520 hours during the fiscal year.

- Examples of Duties - Duties may include, but are not limited to the following
Performs a wide variety of office assistance, support and general clerical work including typing, filing,
proofreading, checking, recording information, answering the telephone and assisting the public in
- Minimum Qualifications
English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Arithmetic, filing and record-keeping procedures.
Receptionist and telephone techniques.
Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.
Perform routine office support, assistance and clerical work.
Learn to operate a variety of office equipment and a computer terminal.
Learn office methods, rules and policies.
Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
Make arithmetical calculations.
Type at a speed of not less than 45 words per minute from clear copy.
Work cooperatively with others and meet the public with courtesy and tact.
- Experience and Training; Additional Information
Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
Two years of general clerical and office assistance experience.
An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
This position is subject to a full criminal offender information record check. If fingerprinting is required, the fee is paid for by the successful candidate and the expense is non-reimbursable.
