PacifiCorp is seeking a Sr. Area Transmission Planner II for its Portland, Oregon office.
Job Duties: Design, develop, modify, and evaluate transmission systems, processes and facilities in compliance with NERC and WECC reliability standards. Develop complex engineering studies, plans, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, and performance assessments to the main grid. Recommend alternative engineering solutions to management. Coordinate outside engineering services to accomplish the assigned work. Maintain project timeliness and budgets. Participate in the development of new WECC and NERC standards to support improved reliability for the electric system. Prepare annual screening studies for NERC compliance and perform main grid power flow stability studies.
Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in:
" Transmission modeling
" PSS/E, ASPEN One Liner, Power world, EMS, SCADA, Visio and data base management (PI).
" Transmission system engineering and transmission system planning.
" Load flow, Short Circuit and Transient stability studies, System Impact and Affected System studies, and Transmission Service Request studies.
" Compliance with reliability standards.
