Job Description
PacifiCorp is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for its Portland, Oregon office.
Job Duties: Architect, design, code, test, document, implement, and maintain complex application programs and interfaces. Evaluate software packages, provide recommendations to management and business clients, and identify best technology solutions. Identify future needs for key technologies and techniques and develop plans for adoption. Aid in systems development planning and monitoring, participate in design reviews and peer code walkthroughs, and provide client and application support. Collaborate with IT teams from applications and infrastructure to identify technology deficiencies and improvement opportunities in practices and procedures. Assist in research and fact-finding to develop or modify application programs. Consult with application users, evaluate user requests for new or modified computer applications, and associated interfaces to determine feasibility, cost and time required, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities. Perform software development and ensure conformance to performance optimization and interoperability standards and requirements. Work in adherence to secure development lifecycle practices and policies.
Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Information Studies, Engineering, or a related field. Five years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Java Developer, or related occupation, including:
" Five years of experience in business software application design, development, integration or installation.
" Five years of experience programming in Java.
" Five years of experience integrating Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) solutions.
" Five years of experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL database development.
" Five years of experience in relational database technology, structured analysis concepts, and software design patterns.
" Five years of experience in project management with Verint Engagement Management Framework.
" Five years of experience working in deployment topologies.
" Three years of experience using Oracle OUAF Framework to build and deploy applications.
