If you are you deeply versed in financial business processes at a law firm and would you like the opportunity to lead a brand new team as we learn a brand new product, then come join our new team.

Davis Wright Tremaine, a national law firm headquartered in Seattle, has just finished converting all accounting processes from legacy Elite to new Aderant Expert. Now we need to stabilize our new system, improve our processes and begin continual refinement – all the while resolving production support issues and providing seamless customer support to our end users.

The FinTech team configures the software, resolves production support issues, solicits business requirements, designs and develops enhancements, works with software vendors on issues, enhancements and upgrades, oversees cross functional projects where Financial Systems touches and integrates with other business systems, provides training and user support, and elicits user feedback to continually refine the system.

We are open to qualified candidates interested in working remotely in Oregon, Washington, or California.

In this role you will:

  • Lead the FinTech team within the Finance organization, supporting the firm’s business objectives by providing financial software across Billing, GL, AP, AR, Trust, Cash Receipts, Collections, and Pricing functions
  • Be the subject matter expert on financial software for the firm, recommending solutions, leading design and implementation efforts and identifying best practices.
  • Serve as an ambassador who demonstrates the value for Financial Systems architecture and provides thought leadership
  • Act as the primary contact for the team, directly tracking issues and enhancement requests and prioritizing/ assigning/ supervising work within the team
  • Conduct discovery process targeted at understanding, capturing, and identifying the business requirements and operational objectives of our internal stakeholders and mapping them to technology solution
  • Work with cross functional teams to drive improvements/best practices including analyzing and optimizing Financial Systems related workflows, platform design and setup

Join us if you have:

  • A minimum five (5) years’ experience working as a Financial Systems Administrator or Financial Systems Manager, with at least two of those years in a law firm
  • 2 years of experience working as an applications or business analyst for a finance team in a law firm
  • Proven subject matter expert on business processes and best practices in a legal Finance organization and serving as a technical liaison across all levels of staff, including firm leadership and attorneys
  • In-depth understanding of how Financial Systems and general ERP practices can be utilized to support and improve business processes.
  • 2+ years working in a business unit outside of IT where your day-to-day colleagues included non-IT, non-technical staff
  • Experience working in an unstructured, complex environment in a role that requires autonomous, self-directed management of priorities and tasks
  • Experience in a mid-sized company with multiple locations
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with clients, attorneys, staff members, and other business contacts, are required
  • Ability to communicate and handle stressful situations in a professional, calm, courteous manner
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, service environment
  • Must be detail oriented, able to prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and able to work in an efficient and organized manner
  • Certified Public or Management Accountant (CPA or CMA) is an advantage.
  • BA/BS in accounting, finance or related field (or equivalent work experience)
