Skills / Requirements
Bring your business skills to this key role where you will:
- Represent LifeMap by selling lines of business including Life, Disability and Voluntary coverages
- Knowledge of all product lines and work collaboratively with other LifeMap affiliates sales staff
- Acquire new various size group(s) business for assigned territory
- Sell through broker / agents and sometimes direct
- Lead strategic territory development and agent relationships
- Mentor / coach other sales executives in sales techniques and sales leadership throughout the Plan
Key qualifications and experience:
- 6 years sales experience with 4 years preferable in employee benefits
- Must be currently licensed, or must become licensed within 90 days of hire, to sell insurance (health, life, and /or disability) in the state or states where business is conducted; Prior to receiving a license staff are not allowed to engage in soliciting or selling activities
- Must have a valid state driver's license with a good driving record and proof of auto insurance
- Proficiency in desktop application software including email, word processing, spreadsheets and creating presentations
- Fully proficient verbal / written presentation skills
- Organize and prioritize to meet established deadlines
- Plan and execute an effective sales approach
- Demonstrated relationship skills
- Ability to engage in community / networking opportunities outside of normal business hours
- Consistent focus on achieving or surpassing results / goals
- Display an enthusiastic, fully committed, and self-directed approach to work
- Represent LifeMap in a positive professional manner in the marketplace
- Establish and maintain a top prospect list and sales pipeline
- Ability to quickly adapt and change priorities
- May require participation in an industry organization
- Lead transition team
- A proven track record of success in achieving sales goals
- Detailed understanding of complexities with ability to communicate and to negotiate all areas related to the sales functions (ie underwriting, sales, renewals, etc.)
- Ability to use tools to build complex Cost Modeling scenarios
- A Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, business, or related field; May substitute an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
